Research Policy

 

The Institute is committed for excellence in Research and want to excellence through a well-documented Research Policy. To this end, the faculty members are continuously urged to take up research and publication works with greater assiduity and passion. The Institute provides assistance and motivation to all -its teachers, post-graduate students and research scholars to create a strong culture of research. Research whichis more appreciated when its related with societal issues, concerns and problems.

The publication being important ingredient, the institute he college also plans to implement a scheme to support and incentivize professors who take up research and publish in peer-reviewed journals listed in UGC CARE, Web of Science, Scopus and other reputed platforms, write books or book chapters.

Strategies evolving to achieve the targets of the Research Policy :

  • Promotion of inter-disciplinary research collaborations across all the departments and other institutes / universities / industry after signing MOUs and submission of project proposals and grants funded by national and international research bodies.
  • Incentivize staff members to publish research papers in standard journals along with students.
  • Encouraging and incentivizing faculty members to edit and publish monographs and books on subject specific domains.
  • The Institute recognizes the Ph.D recipients among its faculty and scholars at the annual Alumni Meets by facilitating them and offering memento and certificate. -, Research output is an essential criterion for faculty recruitment and promotion.
  • The Institute maintains a Research Committee which conducts the Ph.D. related activities.

Vision :

To put in place a robust mechanism for developing and strengthening the research ecosystem within HEls.

Mission :

  • To create a conducive environment for enhanced research productivity.
  • To encourage collaboration across industry, government, community- based organizations, and agencies at the local, national, and international levels.
  • To facilitate greater access to research through mobilization of resources and funding.

Objectives :

  • To create an organizational structure with role-based functions of RDC, formulate Research Policy for the HEls, identify thrust areas of research, and form related cluster groups/ frontline teams/consortia of researchers.
  • To create enabling provisions in Research Policies for recruitment of research personnel, procurement of equipment, and financial management with adequate autonomy to the Principal Investigator(s) and disseminate research outcomes to stakeholders and the public at large.
  • To establish a special purpose vehicle to promote researchers and innovators, identify potential collaborators from industry, research organizations, academic institutions & other stakeholders for cooperation and synergistic partnerships.
  • To act as a liaison between researchers & relevant research funding agencies, extend guidance in preparation & submission of project proposals and post-sanctioning of the grants to oversee adherence to timelines.
  • To have better coordination among other cells/centres dealing with Institute-Industry Inter Linkage, Incubation, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
  • To develop an Institutional Research Information System for sharing the status of ongoing/ completed research projects/Programmes expertise & resources, etc., making effective use of Information & Communication Technology (ICT) for preparing the database of in-house experts to provide industrial consultancy and services.
  • The annual multi-disciplinary research journal of the Institute is planned.: "which is tobe published following the standard norms of peer review, intellectual property rights so that the journal may qualify for UGC CARE list.
  • Encouraging student research, both independent and collaborative with faculty members.
  • To further encourage research by faculty members, the Institute reimburses expenses related to registration, and participation and presentation in National and International seminars, conferences etc.
  • In tune with the policy of research ethics and conduct, the Institute planned subscribed to the Anti-Plagiarism software "Urkund" - also planning to subscribe a copy of "Urkund" and ‘Turnitin’ of its own.
  • To secure National and State level Grant for research promotion and innovation.
  • Secure grants from DBT GOI namely- DBT Builder and DBT Star College Scheme of Govt. of India .
  • The consultancy cell is to be formed which will have a general practice of providing research based consultancy to industry and other business firm.
  • Encourage practice and support of filing of patents and accordingly patents have been published.
  • Listing a special publication page on the Institute website.
  • Publications to be shelved in hard copy in a special section in the library devoted solely to publication by college faculty/ an online repository.
  • Seed money for attending conference to present a paper: for registration, or travelling Expenses or part thereof up to limit as specified by Trust Policy
